Chief Nwagbara: blame Okorocha, Ngige for Abia APC crisis

APC-Logo1The zonal chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) representing Abia Central, Chief Okey Nwagbara has blamed the alleged meddlesomeness of Governor Rochas Okorocha, Senator Chris Ngige and Chief B.B. Apugo for the crisis in the Abia state chapter of the APC.

According to Nwagbara, their insistence on having total control of the APC structure in the state is the root of the crisis in the party in Abia State.

“For these people, it is either they control the party in Abia State or there will be no APC in the state. This came to light in the course of our state congress and this is not how political parties are run. The party should be in the hands of the people on ground and not political contractors. They may be in PRP while working in the interest of NPN. These people are political contractors, which is why they assume there is nobody in Abia State to lead the party but themselves.”

The party chief stated that the challenges will test the party’s resolve to succeed, but maintained that Abia will ‘overcome the intruders’.
“Every party congress will either unite or divide the party. It exposes the weakness or unity of the party depending on the wisdom of the leaders of the party. With maturity, we can disagree to agree and cannot truly be said to have agreed without some form of disagreement in such political setting,” he said.
