Abia senators petition Mu’azu, PDP NWC

pdp_logoTHE three senators representing Abia senatorial districts have petitioned the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s National Working Committee over allegations that the state chapter of the primaries election committee has compiled a list of names favoured for the forthcoming congresses and primaries for respective elective positions.

The senators; Uche Chukwumerije, Enyinnaya Abaribe and Nkechi Nwaogu, said in the petition that it was illegal for the state chapter to set up a congress or primaries committee in contravention of the party’s constitution.

The senators rejected the composition of the Charles Ogbonnaya-led congress/primaries committee.

The letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, and the National Working Committee (NWC), indicated that “the committee is a body not known to the constitution of the party.”

In the petition dated October 28, 2014, and signed by the three lawmakers, they contended that the composition of the party contravened sections 31 (1), (2, J), (3), 25 (1) of the PDP’s constitution 2012, as amended.
